Headache management and red flags through cases

Ray completed his specialist postgraduate medical and neurology training in the UK, moving to Auckland three years ago. He has a specialist interest in the management of headache disorders having previously undertaken research into headache disorders at King’s College London. For his research work, he was awarded a Doctorate in Clinical Neuroscience by King’s College London. He was conferred a Fellow of The Royal College of Physicians, London and Fellow of the Australasian College of Physicians.
He has experience in managing various neurological disorders and has good experience using Botox for chronic migraine, greater occipital nerve blocks, neuromodulation in headache disorders. Moreover, he also has experience using the novel CGRP antibodies for headache disorders.

Update on migraine and its management and survey insights on living with migraine in Aotearoa NZ

An estimated 642,000 people in Aotearoa New Zealand have migraine, of whom around 45,000 have chronic migraine. However, little is known about the burden and impact of migraine on New Zealanders and access to new treatments for migraine is limited. This webinar covers the current understanding of what migraine is, with a focus on chronic migraine, latest developments in treatment and their availability in NZ and results from a 2022 survey of people with migraine in NZ.

In this presentation Dr Ray Bose will summarise the epidemiology, pathophysiology and mechanisms for post-traumatic headaches. We will also outline the challenges in treatment and provide tips for management strategies based on latest research and case studies.
