Botulinum toxin treatment for chronic migraine can be very effective but it can also be difficult to find someone who will administer it according to the recommended protocol (the PREEMPT protocol).
However, some doctors who have trained in cosmetic medicine will offer this treatment in their practice. These are doctors who are accredited by the New Zealand Society of Cosmetic Medicine (NZSCM), who have a Diploma in Cosmetic Medicine and have experience in the use of botulinum toxin (e.g. Botox).

The NZSCM encourages people to contact the individual clinics directly to ask whether they offer this treatment for chronic migraine using the PREEMPT protocol.
