Conference for General Practice 2026

On Friday 31 July and Saturday 1 August 2026, Sarah and Fiona staffed an education stand at the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners annual conference (GP26).

This was the first time we’ve had an education stand at the conference and is the third health professional conference we’ve attended during 2026.

The conference was another great opportunity to talk about migraine with GPs, share our health professional and patient resources and answer questions. There were an estimated 500 GPs in attendance, and while some knew about our charity and had been recommending us to their patients, for others this was the first time they’d heard of us and were glad they had a place to recommend to their patients for support and information.

Our aim with attending these health professional conferences is to support improved knowledge of migraine, especially because there’s been a lot of progress in migraine treatments over the past few years. By raising awareness of migraine and supporting health professional education we hope people with migraine in New Zealand feel more supported by the healthcare system and can live with better with migraine.

Thank you to Fidelity Life and Teva for supporting our attendance at this conference.
