Migraine disease was on the programme of the GP24 Conference in Wellington on 27th July. This is the annual conference of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners, which is regularly attended by hundreds of GPs and provides valued continuing medication education credits.
Our summer student Blair McInnernay presented at the conference, giving an overview of the research project he did for Migraine Foundation. GPs attending the session heard about barriers to receiving health care for migraine that were reported in the Migraine in Aotearoa New Zealand Survey 2022. Blair’s work was published in May in the Journal of Primary Health Care in May, with co-authors Fiona Imlach (Migraine Foundation co-founder), Sue Garrett and Jon Kennedy (from the Department of Primary Care and General Practice, University of Otago Wellington).
