Our second year with an education stand at the South GPCME was yet another great opportunity to talk with healthcare professionals about migraine, and build on the conversations we had last year.
Sarah and Fiona staffed an education stand at the 3-day conference, held at Te Pae Convention Centre, Christchurch, 13–16 August 2026, which was attended by over 1,000 healthcare professionals working within primary care.
We had over 110 health professionals visit our education stand and take away our health professional resources. We spoke with many health professionals who also have migraine, so they were interested in our resources for not only their patients but themselves.
Migraine also featured on the programme schedule. Dr Rosamund Hill presented a migraine session on Friday morning, aptly named Taming the Throb – Mastering Migraine. Dr Hill also discussed migraine during general neurology sessions. Many of the health professionals who visited our stand had attended these sessions and they were keen to learn more about the latest in migraine management.
Thank you to Teva for sponsorship of our education stand and attendance and Fidelity Life for supporting other associated costs through its We Support Who You Support grant earlier in the year.
